Bicyclists will travel along quiet country lanes in Mitcham, Carshalton, Chipstead, Banstead, and Haywards Heath. Finally tackling the mile-long climb up Ditchling Beacon.
The London to Brighton Veteran Car Run has been the world's longest-running motoring event as well as the largest gathering of veteran cars since it began in 1896. Cars must have been built before 1905 to be eligible. Some cars will follow the traditional route down the A23 towards Brixton and Streatham. Others travel past the Houses of Parliament on their way to Lambeth Bridge and out of town. They will then join together on the A23 through Purley, Redhill, Gatwick, Crawley, and Sussex.
On the 21st of December, Burning the Clocks is a unique community event that brings people together to celebrate the shortest day of the year. Locals make their own paper and willow lanterns, which they pass into a blazing bonfire on Brighton beach as a sign of the year's end after parading through the city.
